Procrasti-craft-a-ganza!

  • Hopkinton Center for the Arts (map)

This class is for crafters and non-crafters alike who all have one BIG thing in common - they love making stuff! It doesn’t matter if your interest varies from card-making, to jewelry, knitting, crochet, altered art, and anything else that takes our fancy. These regular Saturday "Crafternoons" are organized and led by HCA instructor Meredith Fitzgerald. She will provide demos for new projects, as well as assist in technique and problem solving for current projects. This is a lovely way to spend an afternoon - meeting new friends, crafting, chatting and maybe you just might finish that project you’ve been working on for years!

First class demo Meredith will show you how to personalize a glass or fabric item using either embroidery, fabric pens, collage or paint pens. Besides traditional Fine Arts, Meredith has experimented with printmaking, knitting, sewing, embroidery, wreath making, calligraphy, origami, woodworking, welding etc. She loves problem solving and encouraging others to "get to done" on projects that have been languishing.

“Ready to Roll” has selected for this year’s Arts in Bloom Juried show

From the Hopkinton Art Center:

June 4—July 18, 2019
Reception and Prize Announcements: Thursday, June 13, 6:00 – 7:30pm

This, the fourteenth year we've hosted our popular seasonal art show is the most competitive yet. 174 artworks were considered for the exhibit by juror Christine O’Donnell, Owner and Gallery Manager of Beacon Gallery in Boston. Christine chose 40 pieces. These include a wonderful variety: traditional paintings and photographs, monoprints, ceramics, fabric/paper/metal mixed media, and pigment transfer prints. Featuring the work of 32 artists, there is surely something here for everyone!

Be sure to join us on June 13th at 6pm for a lively reception. We will announce the winners of six cash prizes totaling over $1,000. The galleries will be graced with stunning floral arrangements inspired by the winning artworks. Created by members of the Hopkinton Garden Club, they will be on display the evening of the reception through June 18th.

@artforreproductiverights Online Auction to fundraise for Yellowhammer Fund

Please check out and follow the Art for Reproductive Rights auction on Instagram. There are a lot of great pieces being auctioned off and I will also have work that can be bid on. Different works will be posted online from now until June 12th.

In one month 100 percent proceeds will be donated to the Yellowhammer Fund.

About The Yellowhammer Fund:

The Yellowhammer Fund provides funding for anyone seeking care at one of Alabama’s three independent abortion clinics and, in some cases, for care at Feminist Women’s Health Center in Atlanta and DuPont Clinic in Washington, D.C. They help with other barriers to access (travel, lodging, etc.) as well as able.

The Yellowhammer Fund envisions a society in which reproductive decisions are made free from coercion, shame, or state interference, a society in which individuals and communities have autonomy in making healthy choices regarding their bodies and their futures.
